On the top of the trekking equipment it is vital that you are in good physical shape. Some of the tours are rather challenging – remember, you will trek over tens kilometers. Unless you are in a good shape, you may have some problems with that and slow the advance of the whole group.

In order to choose the right clothes, you might find the information about the climate and weather in Slovakia quite useful:
Slovakia lies in a mild weather area. There are four seasons there. An average winter temperature is -2°C with January the coldest month of the year. In summer the average temperature is approx. 21°C, but the temperature often exceeds 30°C. Don’t forget: the higher altitude, the stronger sun intensity; without a sun lotion and a hat you may suffer from sunburn and/or sunstroke. The best time for trekking in Slovak mountains is June to October because of warm temperature and mostly sunny weather. The most stable weather is in August and September. In summer the sudden storms may occur.
